REVIEWS

🏕️ Consuelo Walkers Camp – Carnarvon Great Walk, QLD

Tucked high on the Consuelo Tableland, this remote walk-in camp sits amid towering eucalypts and ancient cycads. It’s the most elevated of the Great Walk campsites and offers sweeping escarpment views for those prepared to hike in and spend a night with the wild.

🕰️ History

The Consuelo Tableland forms part of the rugged sandstone country of Carnarvon National Park, an area rich in Aboriginal heritage and home to some of the oldest exposed geological formations in Queensland. This plateau was once a boundary between cultural groups and later a grazing frontier before becoming part of protected land. The camp honours its highland past with minimal impact and maximum immersion.
