đď¸ Cotton Tree Campground â Granya, VIC đď¸
đ DESCRIPTION & LOCATIONCotton Tree Campground is a basic, peaceful bush camp tucked into the eastern edge of Mount Granya State Park, about 6 km south of Granya township via Murray River Road. Set among tall eucalyptus and close to Cottontree Creek, it offers a quiet escape for hikers, birdwatchers, and self-sufficient campers. This is a true off-grid spotâno frills, just forest, fresh air, and a cracking campfire under the stars.
đ°ď¸ HISTORYMount Granya and its surrounding ranges form part of Dhudhuroa Country, rich in Indigenous heritage. European settlers grazed the area in the 1800s, and the surrounding park was later preserved for its granite ridgelines, dry forests, and biodiversity. The nearby Granya township was a small mining and farming settlement, now mostly a rural residential locality.
