The campground is part of Rossmore Station, a working sheep property that offers off-grid bush camping, nature-based experiences, and access to the summit of this iconic mesa.

Mount Oxley is a landmark in local Aboriginal and pastoral history, offering visitors a taste of outback serenity with dramatic vistas and authentic station life.

🕰️ History

Mount Oxley is a prominent landform long significant to the Ngemba people, offering cultural and spiritual importance. The station itself has European pastoral history dating back to the 1800s, and remains family-run.

The summit was visited by explorer Charles Sturt in the 1830s, and later used for surveying and communication in early NSW.
