Tucked beside Gurrangorambla Creek, Old Snowy Campground is a peaceful, secluded site located near Currango Plain, in the northern section of Kosciuszko National Park. This spot is perfect for nature-lovers, horse riders, and astronomy enthusiasts, with unpolluted night skies and a back-to-nature feel.

  • Basic bush campground

  • Toilets (no showers)

  • Horse yards – dividable for those traveling with horses

  • Fireplaces (BYO firewood)

  • No powered sites

  • No potable water – bring all your own

  • No mobile reception (limited service 5 km away at the radio tower)

🛻 Vehicle Access

  • Accessed via Long Plain Road and Pocket Saddle Road

  • 4WD recommended, especially in wet conditions

  • Roads closed during winter (June–October long weekends)

  • Not suitable for large caravans

  • Peaceful and remote—come prepared
